Your home is a direct reflection of your sense of style, and your personality. Glass table tops can be an elegant and cost-effective way to open up your living space while adding function.
Alamo Glass Company can provide glass for any table size or shape and in thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 3/4".
When calling for a quote, the important details include the size, and the shape and thickness, and what type of edge work you would like. Often times the top may be cut to a pattern, so the size may just be a block size but should be as close as possible, because depending on the thickness, just a few inches either direction can mean a major price difference. Below see some examples of pattern shapes ...

Each detail in a table top adds to the price, for example a rectangular top with 90 degree corners, would cost less than the same size and thickness table top, with even slight radius or clipped corners.
WAYS TO GAUGE THICKNESS WITHOUT A TAPE MEASURE:
A standard emory board is 3/8 wide at one end and 1/2 inch wide at the other.
A standard #2 pencil is about 1/4" in diameter
A new legal pad is roughly 1/4" thick, as is a standard drinking straw, and a small sized paper clip
A large sized paper clip is about 3/8' of an inch at it's widest point
If you have a ruler or tape measure but are not sure of the measuring terminology, please observe the following:
An inch has 16 marks, some are smaller and some are bigger.
There are 16 - 16ths (between the marks - see inch below)
There are 8 - 8ths (between two marks)
There are 4 - 1/4s (between 4 marks)
There are 2 - 1/2s (between 8 marks)
You can give your measurements to us in marks, such as there are 10 marks of the ruler, and we can translate that for you or use the handy chart below ...
ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT ALAMO GLASS OFTEN HAS DISCOUNTED OR DRASTICALLY REDUCED PRICES ON OVERSTOCKED SHELVING AND TABLE TOPS. PLEASE ASK US WHAT WE HAVE THAT MIGHT WORK FOR YOUR PROJECT.
